The Comic Report - 1/11/2026

Hey everyone, happy new year, and welcome back to The Comic Report, where I collect the biggest news in the comic world and share it in a weekly newsletter! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season. I'm very excited to grow MyComicCrate this year, and I have some great content in the works that I can't wait to share with you. There's a lot of exciting comic news this week, so let's get into it!

Mister Miracle show

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that the Mister Miracle show is progressing well. Now, there's some additional (though minor) news to share: Tom King has confirmed that the show will aim to faithfully replicate Mitch Gerads' unique art style. This is exciting for fans of the comic, as Gerads' visuals are a huge part of what made the original series stand out. It will be interesting to see how this distinctive look is brought to life on screen! King mentions that the show aims to "make the animation as good as what Mitch put in the comics". He's also teased that casting announcements are coming very soon!

New Comic Series from Ram V

Ram V, Anand Radhakrishnan, and Evan Cagle are teaming up for an ambitious new comic series that will span nine volumes! The series is set to be published by Morgen, a new French publisher in the comic industry. While not many details have been announced yet, this collaboration is definitely one to watch—Ram V consistently delivers compelling stories, and with such talented artists involved, expectations are high.

Ultimate Universe Tea

In a recent interview, Deniz Camp revealed that he had even bigger plans for the Ultimates and the Ultimate Universe, including the launch of a "new wave of books"! As this universe prepares to close its final chapter this year, there's a sense of nostalgia and loss among fans who have followed its journey from the very beginning. The end of the Ultimate Universe marks not just the conclusion of a beloved universe but also the culmination of years of storytelling that pushed boundaries and inspired both readers and creators alike. It will be fascinating to see how Marvel brings this era to a close and honors the legacy of the Ultimate line.

My Pick of the Week

The first Absolute book that I read this year, and this is just brutal and so intriguing! I won't spoil anything, but the last-page reveal was so cool!!!
