The Comic Report - 1/18/2026

Welcome back to The Comic Report! Each week, I scour the comic universe to bring you the stories, announcements, and updates that matter most. This week delivers a particularly stacked lineup—from major announcements to creative team reveals that are bringing our favorite characters to life in fresh ways.

Grab your coffee, settle in, and let's break down everything happening in the world of comics!

Mister Miracle show is confirmed cannon to the DCU

I know I’ve mentioned this show several times recently, but James Gunn has officially announced that the Mister Miracle animated series is canon within the mainline DCU! This is huge news for fans, as it means the stories and characters from the show will directly tie into the broader DC Universe.

Tom King has also announced that he got to cast the following characers - Darkseid, Orion, Big Barda, and Mister Miracle! Shouldnt be too long before we get some announcements and hopefully a potential release date

If you haven’t already, head to your local comic shop and pick up a copy of the Mister Miracle graphic novel—the story is phenomenal, and it’s the perfect time to get caught up before the show premieres.

Soon be seen in our DCU animated show, based on the 12-issue comic book series from Tom King and Mitch Gerads.

Cancelled Batman Game

While not strictly comic book-related, Batman video games have always offered a fantastic way to experience the Dark Knight. The Arkham series, in particular, remains a monumental achievement in gaming and still holds up today. But did you know there was once a Batman game in development based on the Christopher Nolan Batman films? Unfortunately, it was cancelled, but over the past few years, concept art and development footage have leaked online. Check out the link below if you’re interested in seeing recently leaked footage and gameplay!
