The Comic Report 11/23/2025

Hey everyone, and welcome back to this week's issue of the Comic Report! I'm back from traveling to London last week, which means I've got a towering pile of comics to catch up on and a ton of exciting news to share.

DC K.O Boss Battle! Red Sonja, HomeLander and more join the DC Universe

At New York Comic Con 2025 during the Jim Lee & Friends panel, DC teased fans with a wild crossover : characters from outside the DC Universe joining the DC K.O. tournament madness. The announcement included names like Homelander, Sub Zero, Red Sonja, Vampirella, Samantha Strong, and Annabelle stepping into the ring.

Now we have the official details! The one-shot is titled DC K.O.: BOSS BATTLE #1, written by Jeremy Adams with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico, Ronan Cliquet, and more. It drops February 4, 2026.

Daredevil goes back to School

Marvel has announced a brand-new Daredevil ongoing series by writer Stephanie Phillips (Planet She-Hulk) and artist Lee Garbett (Death of Doctor Strange), giving the Man Without Fear a fresh start! Designed as a perfect entry point for both newcomers and longtime fans, the new run sees Matt Murdock facing unprecedented challenges in both his personal and superhero lives.

The series introduces some exciting new elements to Daredevil's world—including Matt taking on a role we've never seen before: law professor! As he settles into this new chapter, a mysterious new supervillain named Omen emerges with a vendetta against his alter ego.

Daredevil #1 launches March 18, 2026, and yes—it will be sold in Marvel's True Believer Blind Bags!

Tis the Season for Blind Bags

Image Comics has unveiled limited-edition Holiday Blind Bags featuring rare variants from their biggest series. In partnership with GONKBONK, these festive stocking stuffers hit comic shops on December 24.

While Blind Bags remain a controversial trend in the comics industry, they continue to sell extremely well. Each bag will set you back $20, but here's the hook: you're guaranteed at least a 1:25 ratio variant—and you might even score a 1:100 incentive variant! The bags pull randomly from Image's archives, with potential variants from over 40 series including Spawn, Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, The Department of Truth, Radiant Black, W0rldtr33, Power Fantasy, I Hate Fairyland, and many more.

It's a gamble, but if you're hunting for rare Image variants or need a last-minute gift for the collector in your life, these Holiday Blind Bags might be worth the risk.

Superman #1: From Forgotten Attic to Record Sale

Three brothers in Northern California hit the jackpot while cleaning out their late mother's attic. Hidden in a box was a near-pristine first edition copy of Superman #1 from 1939.

The comic sold at Heritage Auctions for $9.12 million, shattering the previous record and becoming the highest price ever paid for a comic book. It earned an unprecedented CGC grade of 9 out of 10.

My Pick of the Week

Tough picking this week, but I'll have to go with Captain America #5 for my pick of the week! This issue delivers a fantastic conclusion to the first arc in Chip Zdarsky's run on Captain America. The series has really showcased some exceptional storytelling and artwork throughout, and this finale brings it all together with a solid, emotional conclusion that sticks the landing.
