Hey everyone, and welcome back to another issue of the Comic Report. A quiet week in the comic world in terms of announcements, however a lot of fantastic books dropped this week!

Neverlanders will be hitting the big screen

Tom Taylor and Jon Sommariva's YA graphic novel "Neverland," which presents a unique reimagined world of Peter Pan, has had its film rights acquired by Pixel Zoo. The studio plans to develop it as a teen and family movie.

This continues an exciting trend we've been seeing over the past few weeks, with multiple comic book properties being picked up by studios for adaptation. It's always thrilling to see the comics community expand into different creative mediums and reach new audiences.

Dani Moonstar gets her first ongoing comic series!

After over 40 years in the Marvel Universe, Dani Moonstar (also known as Spellbinder or Psyche) is finally getting her first-ever solo ongoing series! The announcement came as a surprise reveal in the backmatter of this week's "Marvel Voices: Echo - Seeker of Truth" #1, marking a historic moment for the character.

Created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod in 1982's "The New Mutants" graphic novel, Moonstar has been a vital part of Marvel's mutant mythology for decades. She's served as a member of the New Mutants, X-Force, and the X-Men, wielding both her mutant ability to create telepathic illusions and her magical powers as a Valkyrie of Asgard. Despite her rich history, she's never headlined her own series – until now.

The series is technically slated for January 28, 2026, though interestingly, it wasn't included in Marvel's official January solicitations. This could mean we're looking at a special release or perhaps a slight scheduling adjustment.

Jonathan Hickman and Mike del Mundo Launch "Shift" with Free First Chapter

Superstar creators Jonathan Hickman and Mike del Mundo have launched "Shift," an ambitious new 64-page graphic novel through their 3 Worlds/3 Moons (3W3M) Substack platform. The first 13-page chapter dropped this week completely free for all readers.

"Shift" tells the story of a lost age of magic and a brotherhood forged within it, featuring characters like Syg the Stag in what Hickman describes as "the beginning of the next phase of everything we do." The artwork from del Mundo promises to be absolutely stunning based on the preview pages already released.

Future chapters will release weekly on Tuesdays exclusively for paid subscribers ($8/month or $80/year), making this a serialized digital-first experience. For those who prefer physical comics, good news – the complete story will eventually be collected in trade format as part of their 3W3M [ONE] collection.

My Pick of the Week

My pick of the week is Batman #3 by Matt Fraction, Jorge Jiménez and Tomeu Morey! To be honest, this is the only issue I read this week, but I have been really happy with the current run and this issue is another solid issue of the caped crusader. This issue to me, felt like a episode of the classic show, Batman the animated Series.
