The Comic Report 12/14/2025
Welcome back to another issue of The Comic Report, where I gather all the exciting stories and news in the comic world packed in one spot! As we head into the holiday season, the comic industry is delivering some incredible gifts for fans. I hope you all saw that incredible trailer for Supergirl — June can't come soon enough! Between major crossover announcements, new series launches, and some wild industry developments, there's no shortage of excitement as we close out 2025.
Supergirl Trailer is finally here!
We have finally received the first trailer for the second movie in the new DCU — Supergir! Based on the phenomenal comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, this trailer certainly has a different vibe compared to Superman! We also get our first look at Lobo, played by Jason Momoa! Check it out if you haven't already.
Spider-Man/Superman Crossover for 2026
Earlier this year, fans were treated to a couple of DC/Marvel crossovers, and for 2026, we're getting the most iconic characters from each publisher in a brand new team-up! Releasing March 25th, 2026, Superman/Spider-Man #1 brings together the Man of Steel and the Wall-Crawler in an oversized one-shot featuring multiple stories by an all-star lineup of creators: Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez, Tom King and Jim Lee, Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber, Gail Simone and Belén Ortega, Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere, Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott, Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval, and Sean Murphy!
Spider-Man and Invincible Team up again!
Looks like Spider-Man doesn't catch a break when it comes to teaming up with heroes from other universes! Marvel and Skybound are reprinting the iconic Marvel Team-Up #14, which saw Spider-Man cross paths with Invincible in a rare company crossover written by Robert Kirkman. Originally hidden as one of the "secret" comics in the Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #1 blind bag earlier this year, this will be the first time fans can purchase the issue as a standalone since its original release. The reprint arrives in March 2026, conveniently, the same month Invincible Season four releases!
There are plenty of variant covers to choose from by legendary artists including Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Ryan Ottley, Mark Bagley, and Alex Saviuk — so take a look!

Brand new He Man ongoing!
Dark Horse has upgraded He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from a limited series to an ongoing series for 2026! This marks a significant milestone for the franchise, as He-Man returns to monthly ongoing status rather than the limited series format that's been the norm in recent years. Tim Seeley is writing, Reilly Brown is handling art, and Jim Charalampidis is on colors. The transition to ongoing will kick off with issue #5 of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Ready for the best 11 seconds of your life?
That's right — we got our first look at the Lanterns TV series starring Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly MacDonald, and Nathan Fillion! The brief teaser was part of HBO's 2026 preview and gave us just a glimpse of what's to come. Not many details have been released for the series besides the show releasing in the second half of 2026, but those 11 seconds were enough for me. The series will follow Hal Jordan and John Stewart in what James Gunn has described as a "True Detective-style mystery" set in the DCU.
My Pick of the Week
Probably a predictable guess, but every issue of Assorted Crisis Events has been a perfect and impactful journey. In this issue, we follow Tom, who has the unfortunate burden of finding dead bodies of himself everywhere he goes. We see his struggles as he suffers through this condition and the crushing loneliness that comes with it. Another stellar entry in what's becoming one of my favorite series.
